Prior to establishing St. John & Associates Kristin worked for 10 years as a real estate sales professional. Kristin maintains her professional certification in community management through the California Association of Community Managers and keeps abreast of changes to California law and industry trends through participation in several professional management associations. Jim Watson is certified in homeowner association management through the California Association of Community Managers and is currently managing associations as a member of St. John & Associates. With just one year in association management, Jim’s background as an aerospace program manager has enabled him to quickly become effective in HOA management. Among the strengths Jim brings to the table are; project definition and driving to closure, strong communication skills, vendor management, and managing HOA budgetary issues. Jim has established a reputation for quick response to owner issues and maintaining positive relationships across the association – owner – vendor landscape. Kathy Underwood: My name is Kathy Underwood and I am the bookkeeper for St. John and Associates. I graduated from Santa Barbara High School (1975) and after that from Snyder Business College in Santa Barbara (1978). I have been working in the accounting field since 1977.
In 2000, I started with my first Association bookkeeping job, which I still have today. From there I started my business and do the books for 24 Associations (which include 5 property managers and 2 Associations directly). I am proficient in QuickBooks and Excel. We consider our accounting method very detailed yet easy to understand. We strive to provide you with the reporting you desire and will work with your Association on any additional reporting you feel you might need.
I moved to Bear Valley Springs, outside of Tehachapi, California in 2007 and continued to do my work remotely with my clients. I have two children and now two grandchildren that also live in Bear Valley. I work about half time, which allows me time to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, line dancing and time with friends and family.
